An evidence based discussion on the example of Atlantis
 
The Seas, Rivers, Islands and Coastal Areas Intergroup of the European Parliament has the pleasure to invite you to participate to our conference entitled “Motorways of the Sea: The conditions for success” held on 7 March 2017 (from 13.00 to 16.00) at the European Parliament in Brussels (5B001).

Please note that a welcome coffee will be organized from 13.00 to 14.00.

This conference aims to discuss how to create the condition for success to the Motorways of the Sea. It is organised with the support of the Atlantis EU funded project. Atlantis aims to set up a new Motorway of the Sea lines, in the Atlantic Area, between the ports of Brest, Leixoes and Liverpool. The study phase, co-funded by the Connecting Europe Facility program, ends in April. Besides the infrastructure work studies, the project analysed innovative business and funding strategies to cover the startup risks.

After a first session presenting the context, the second session aims to discuss which measures, from short to longer term, could be promoted to transfer the road traffic to the sea.
