Following the progress of the strategy and action plan for the Atlantic basin has never been easier. A new online map offers an unprecedented overview of all the marine and maritime projects funded under the strategy and currently underway on the EU's Atlantic shores and beyond.
One can also consult the full list of beneficiaries and projects as well as a search function that enables to apply filters such as country, budget, sector etc.
The map, which was officially launched in Brussels at the Blue Invest event of May 17th, is currently hosted on the website of the European Agency for SMEs but will soon be embedded on the Atlantic Strategy website. It can be consulted from any type of internet device and it can also be easily embedded in third party websites promoting #EUinvest actions in the Atlantic basin.
The map will certainly make it easier for decision-makers to monitor the plethora of projects that contribute to the implementation of the Atlantic strategy and to measure the take-in of the EU Blue Growth strategy by researchers and entrepreneurs. But it is first and foremost a tool that increases transparency for the public. In just a few clicks anyone can see where funds are going and what both the EU and the Atlantic Members States are doing to drive progress for a smart and sustainable Atlantic sea basin.
