COPERNICUS MARINE SERVICE WORKSHOP & TRAINING FOR THE AQUACULTURE SECTOR

The European Aquaculture Technology and Innovation Platform (EATIP) and Mercator Ocean International organize in September 24-25, 2019 in Athens, Greece, an event entitled “Copernicus Marine for the Aquaculture Sector”.  This event will focus on the following objectives:

  • Day 1 morning session: Allow for aquaculture community to share issues they are facing regarding operating at sea, such as water quality monitoring, aquaculture farm siting, optimization of existing locations, environmental risk management, or impact from climate change. The stakeholders will also express their expectations on how Copernicus Marine Service might contribute to tackle current and future challenges.
  • Day 1 afternoon session: Present Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service experts and users to respond to those issues with existing examples and known solutions.
  • Day 2: Put in practice some of the existing examples and known solutions within marine hands-on technical training sessions.

Interested stakeholders are invited to participate in the survey to assist in defining the final event agenda.
