During the conference on "Sustainable Development of the Blue Economy" held in Gozo (Malta) on 28 March 2019, the European Commissioner for Environment, Maritime affairs and Fisheries Karmenu Vella said:

“There is still a big investment hole that only dedicated blue economy funding can plug. That is why we are working very hard to attract investors. We are preparing a Blue Economy Investment Platform that already assembles 600 bankable precommercial ventures. Next, we will use the European Maritime Day in Lisbon in May to launch a service providing investment readiness support to startups and SMEs operating in blue economy sectors.”“Our seabasin strategies are triggering bottomup regional cooperation. Just think of the Atlantic Action Plan, which has raised 6 billion euros since its adoption in 2013. Or the WestMED Framework for Action, which has managed to mobilise 13 million euros in just one year”...“In short, we are creating opportunities.”

Since put in force in 2013, the Atlantic Action Plan has spurred over 1200 new maritime projects and nearly 6 billion euro of investments. To showcase all these projects, EASME launched the maritime datahub, an interactive tool that is continuously updated and generates information on projects and companies funded by EU and Member State programmes. The tool consists of 3 modules:

1. An interactive map

2. A list of beneficiaries and projects

3. A statistics module.

Users can search through filters such as budget allocated per country or per maritime sector, generate own statistics and export data in different formats such as picture, PDF document or csv file.

To use and reuse!  Maritime Data Ηub

Do you have a maritime project in the Atlantic which is not yet included in the map, please contact your national hub !
